Born in Cashmere, Washington State, U.S.A. in 1944, he began to draw and paint when he was very young and sold his first painting when he was 14 years old. Lance came to Ireland in 1966 and has lived in Wicklow since.
He draws his inspiration from the beauty and harmony of nature. his insights enable him to capture the character and personality of his subjects. In landscape and seascapes he captures the tranquillity, serenity or turmoil of the scene.
Although he has painted some 1,400 oil paintings, in his long career, most of his work is unknown. Like most artists their great works end up in some private collection seen & appreciated only by a few.
Lance feels, great art of any kind is never exclusive, it binds people together in shared experience. His paintings are in such demand the Lance has agreed to produce high quality Gilcleθ prints of some of his works.
